Interesting Interview Questions and Their Answers.

By John Bassey:

Can you answer these?
So many a time candidates do not
‘land’ a job owing to the fact that
they could not answer some
interview questions that could have
given them an edge over other
applicants or simply get them hired
after undergoing rigorous
recruitment processes. As the world
is evolving new strides and
breakthroughs every day, so are
recruiters and HR managers growing
more intelligent. Here are examples
of questions and answers that will
get you thinking. Enjoy…
Q
Onyinye was cooking a dish and
going by her recipe she needed one
cup of oil.
However, she only has a three cup
measuring container and a five cup
measuring container. How will she
measure just one cup?
A
She will use the three cup
measuring container twice to fill
the five cup measuring container.
On filling up the five cup
measuring container the second
time, what remains in the three cup
measuring container is one cup
since twice of three cups is six
cups.
Q
A house is on fire and it happens
to be that you are the only one who
knows how to put the fire out. You
have to get the house in minutes
else the house is consumed, so you
need a short cut (route) to the
house which only two identical twin
brothers knows: one is a glorious
liar while the other is a sincere
soul. On your way to the burning
house you come to a cross road
which will require you to either
turn right or left as the short
route. One of the twin brothers
came along just strolling by and in
the heat of the pressure and panic
you cannot recognize whether it is
the chronic liar twin brother or
the truthful twin brother. What
will be the one question that you
will ask to know if the true turn
to take is left or right supposing
you are allowed only one question
and the twin brothers know one of
them always tell the truth and the
other do not?
A
The question to ask is “Which
direction would your brother say is
the right short route to the house,
right or left?”
Logic: By asking that question, you
are sure that the answer to be
produced will be the same and all
what you have to do is to follow
the opposite direction of the
answer. How?
Okay, let’s assume the right
direction to take is LEFT. Now if
you asked the truthful twin “Which
direction would YOUR BROTHER say is
the right direction to the house?”
The truthful twin knowing full well
that his twin brother is a liar
would say RIGHT because the brother
would lie in any circumstance. So
your cue is to take LEFT, the
opposite of the given answer.
On a reverse, if you met the
chronic, lying twin brother and ask
him the same question: “Which
direction would YOUR BROTHER say is
the right direction to the house?”
The lying twin knowing full well
that his twin brother is very
truthful and would give the correct
answer which is LEFT would instead
say RIGHT because it is his nature
to lie. Then your cue is to take
LEFT, the opposite of the given
answer.
So you see? The same answer from
the two of them would cue you the
right direction to take. Usually,
questions as this come with written
interviews. So be prepared.
I had a written and an oral job
interview. I’ll definitely share
that experience soon plus the
likable questions to expect during
an interview for a bank job (this
was gotten for a reliable source of
a popular bank). But for now, below
are some other questions I shared
sometime ago on my FB wall.
Think outside the box!
Question 1:
You are driving along in your car
on a wild, stormy night, it’s
raining heavily, when suddenly you
pass by a bus stop, and you see
three people waiting for a bus:
* An old lady who looks as if she
is about to die.
* An old friend who once saved your
life.
* The perfect partner you have been
dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer
a ride to, knowing very well that
there could only be one passenger
in your car?
This is a moral/ethical dilemma
that was once actually used as part
of a job application.
The applicant simply answered:
“I would give the car keys to my
Old friend and let him take the old
lady to the hospital. I would stay
behind and wait for the bus with
the partner of my dreams.”
Sometimes, we gain more if we are
able to give up our stubborn
thought limitations. Never forget
to “Think Outside of the Box.”
Question 2:
What will you do if I run away with
your sister?
The candidate who was selected
answered “I will not get a better
match for my sister than you sir”
Question 3:
Interviewer (to a student girl
candidate): What if one morning you
woke up & found that you were
pregnant.
Girl: I will be very excited and
take an off, to celebrate with my
husband.
Normally an unmarried girl will be
shocked to hear this, but she
managed it well.
Question 4:
The interviewer ordered for a cup
of coffee for the candidate. Coffee
arrived and was kept before the
candidate, and then he asked “What
is before you?”
Candidate instantly replied “Tea”
He got selected.
You know how and why did he say
“TEA” when he knows very well that
coffee was kept before him
(Answer: The question was “What is
before you (U – alphabet) Reply was
“TEA” (T – alphabet)
Alphabet “T” is before Alphabet “U”
Question 5;
Interviewer said “I shall either
ask you ten easy questions or one
really difficult question.
Think well before you make up your
mind!” The boy thought for a while
and said, “My choice is one really
difficult question.”
“Well, good luck to you, you have
made your own choice! Now tell me
this. “What comes first, Day or
Night?”
The boy was jolted into reality as
his admission depends on the
correctness of his answer, but he
thought for a while and said, “It’s
the DAY sir!”
“How” the interviewer asked,
“Sorry sir, you promised me that
you will not ask me a SECOND
difficult question!”
___
Sometimes just thinking out of the
box is all it takes!
Share with your friend and give
them a special moment of
thinking…!!
